The annual defence of Operation Transformation

2014-05-03 20.23.49

Yesterday a Doctor called Jacky Jones was interviewed on the Ray Darcy radio show. Jacky is not a fan of Operation Transformation and she annually has a go at the show. Her arguments range from the meals being too expensive, the show focusing on the individual rather than the population as a whole, that it is purely entertainment based and that Govt agencies shouldn’t be spending money sponsoring it.

Dr. Jones did the same last year.

The Independent Newspaper covered the interview online – HERE

Now, I don’t speak for RTE nor do I speak on behalf either Operation Transformation or00053d2e-628 the production company but given my history with OT, my success during the show and continued success afterwards, I do defend it regularly from uninformed comment. I don’t have to, but I feel that OT provides an excellent opportunity to learn for those that want to make sustainable changes to their lifestyle.

So after reading the Indo article I took to twitter. It is easier to re-post the tweets here…

That’s it – it is no fault of any doctor, nurse or medical practitioner but regardless of the medium the information travels through be it a TV show or directly from the health service, the decision to change and action required to change their lifestyle rests with the individual, but that’s a whole different story!
